Cabarceno Natural Park
Spain. Cantabria
18 August 2023
I invite you to the photographic world of adventure and nature: the amazing Cabárceno Park, in Spain in the Cantabria region, which impressed me as a professional photographer with its wide-format space.
We arrived at the park early in the morning in the tourist summer month - July. But, surprisingly, the park was not overcrowded, and the opportunity to travel by car gave me a chance to capture and photograph many landscapes and animals in their natural environment.
For a long time, I could not take my eyes off the family of elephants with a baby elephant: his ears were developing like parachutes, while he was running funny after the mother elephant. Imagine the size territory that a family of elephants can easily live there and lazily stroll to the watering hole.
Elephants Family
About 120 species of animals live in the park, many have offspring, and all the conditions are created for the animals to show their natural behaviour patterns, and for me to show my photo skills.
Incredible Gorillas
The park was created on the territory of a quarry for the extraction of marble. The landscape design impresses with its textures, overgrown vines and light, as if you are seeing a picture taken on medium-format photographic film: ocher, fluffy greens, and animals sprinkled with some magical pollen, like hairy bumblebees.
And the drops of water on the hippopotamus' round bottom deserve a separate photo frame.
They were so close to us, its was super hard not to touch them. But they look so soft.
